OEM / ODM
Custom is a set of decisions, not a slogan.
Bring a tech-pack, a sample or a reference. We develop the construction, close the open decisions in writing, and produce to the approved sample.
Two ways to work
OEM or ODM — who brings the design
The difference is not a price tier. It determines who owns the construction decisions and how much development happens before the first sample.
OEM
You bring the design
You supply the tech-pack, drawings, material callouts and specifications. We manufacture to them, raise any production constraint in writing, and keep the approved sample as the reference.
- Existing product with defined construction
- Buyer-owned patterns and artwork
- Requirements already written into a tender or drawing
ODM
We develop the construction
You start from a brief, reference photo or market requirement. We propose structure, materials and attachment, then develop a sample set with you until the construction is approved.
- New program without a finished drawing
- Reference product that needs re-engineering
- Private-label range built from a market brief
Many programs use both: an OEM construction for the core style and ODM development for the accessories or variants around it.
Customisation matrix
What can be specified
Each row is a decision that goes into the approved construction. Where a change requires a new pattern, it is named before sampling.
| No. | Dimension | What is decided |
|---|---|---|
| 01 | Shell fabric and coating | Weight, weave, coating and finish specified per drawing |
| 02 | Colour | Solid, two-tone and Pantone matching across fabric, trim and zipper |
| 03 | MOLLE and attachment | Row count, spacing, stitched or laser-cut field |
| 04 | Compartment structure | Zoning, divider walls, loop panels, access orientation |
| 05 | Carry system | Harness geometry, frame sheet, belt interface, sternum position |
| 06 | Hardware | Zipper type, slider, buckle, D-ring, adjuster |
| 07 | Logo and marking | Embroidery, screen print, heat transfer, woven label, metal badge, patch |
| 08 | Interior | Lining, padding density, hydration sleeve, document sleeve |
| 09 | Packaging and labelling | Hangtag, care label, polybag, barcode, FNSKU, carton mark |
Development path
Six checkpoints from brief to dispatch
Click a step to read what is produced at that stage. Nothing moves forward on a verbal assumption.
Brief & tech-pack
Schedule confirmed per projectWe review construction, fabric, hardware and target cost, then return a written feasibility note with open questions before sampling starts.
Commercial rules
Stated up front, confirmed per style
We do not publish a single MOQ or lead time for every backpack, because fabric minimums, hardware and marking method change the answer. Send the target and we confirm what is achievable.
Confidentiality terms are agreed before drawings or samples are exchanged. Private-label patterns are not reused, offered or shown to other buyers.
Project rules
- MOQ
- Confirmed per style and construction
- Sampling
- Quoted separately; deduction terms agreed in writing
- Lead time
- Confirmed after sample approval and material check
- Price basis
- Material, construction, hardware, marking, packaging, quantity
Tooling, test pieces and third-party inspection are quoted separately where applicable.
Tech-pack intake
No finished tech-pack? Start with what you have.
A reference photo, a physical sample or a written equipment list is enough to begin. Describe it below or send it through the inquiry form; we will translate it into a construction proposal with the open questions listed.
Send a referenceSend your spec
Start with the requirement you already have
Include volume, equipment list, fabric, marking and destination. If something is undecided, list it as open rather than guessing.
Next step
Not sure whether your program is OEM or ODM?
Send the material you have. We will tell you which decisions are already closed and which need to be made before a sample is worth building.
